Following the death of 'Junior' Juniper, the Howlers welcomed Percival 'Pinky' Pinkerton as their latest teammate. A result of the close cooperation between the U.S. and England; Pinkerton was added to the Howlers, if for no other reason that no other squad had a place for a man skilled in combat with an umbrella (ahem.... I mean bumbershoot). This small but useful quirk aside, Pinkerton was a skilled sharpshooter, demolitions expert, and well versed in hand to hand combat.

Pinkerton derrives from a family with a long military history stretching back to the battle of Waterloo. Dutifully enrolled in the finiest military acadamy, Pinkerton was forced to resign due to poor academic performance and left in shame, while his older brother remained. When the war broke out, Pinkerton joined as a private and signed up for the most dangerous assignment he could find, the Howling Commandos. In time Pinkerton's experience lead to a temporary transfer to the "Deadly Dozen", lead by Dum Dum Dugan, before returning to duty with the Howlers. Such were the Howling Commandos feared by the Third Reich, a counter squad of elite fighters, the Blitzkrieg Squad was formed, and among thier number, Manfred, earned his place on the squad due to the lethal swordsmanship practiced with his saber; secreted within his walking stick, making him the Bltizer counter to Percivel Pinkerton.

Among one of Pinkerton's more unusual missions with the Howlers came early in July of 1942 when the squad was sent into Romania. There the squad discovered Count Dracula, whose existence was known to Pinkerton's family via thier friendship with Abraham Stoker and the Van Helsing family. Teaming up with vampire to liberate a gypsy village, Pinkerton nonetheless advised Dracula that he would send word to Van Helsing of his return.

Pinkerton's association with the Howlers did not end with World War II. Pinkerton signed up for a tour of duty in the Army during the Korean war where he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and served again alongside his fellow Howling Commandos. Later he voluntered to reunite with the Howlers for a special mission in Vietnam.

Following his tour of duty in Korea, Pinkerton retired to England where he opened a posh Playboy night club in London's SoHo district. Although leading a civilian life, Pinkerton remained ever ready to return to action. He served in an unofficial capacity for SHIELD during the recovery of their lost agents from the Deltite Affair in 1991.

He was among one of the few Howlers not present at Nick Fury's "funeral" in 1995. Dum Dum was present when he died of cancer in 2009 at home.
