Review
Lots of old-school S.H.I.E.L.D. action curtersey of the team of writer Isabella and the art team, who ressurect lots of Strange Tales era gadgets. Sights like the Hydra wheel of operatives and the return of Dreadnought make these stories a surefire win for Fury fans. El Jaguar makes for a perfect Hydra goon and would not have been out of place in the old Kee/Kirby tales from Strange Tales Blackwing is also a welcome foil, posing as an evil Batman almost. Fury works pretty well in all this, although he's mostly a sideline character, but there is plenty of S.H.I.E.L.D. vs Hydra action across the issues. The art is quite impressive, with some great angles in the fight scenes and Brown is clearly having a ball drawing all the wonderful gadgets from both S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra. These are great issues to have for fans of the Howler and Hornhead.
